We are looking forward to having our residents, their families and friends participate with us in the Life Bio program customized for Tuscan Gardens. Attached are two forms which we need to get started. The Permission Form simply gives us permission to work with Life Bio to put together our resident’s story. The About Me Journal is information which will get the team started. With this information, you’ll be contacted by one of our writers to interview you, obtain photos, background or collateral information, and so forth. We are paying for this entire process and are happy to extend it with our compliments to our residents, our families and loved ones. You will cherish forever the work product of this effort. Enjoy and God Bless!

Dear Residents, friends, family, and future residents,

The health and safety of our residents and associates is our utmost priority.

We are closely monitoring the advisories and recommendations related to coronavirus (COVID-19) from the CDC. And according to CDC, our resident population is more vulnerable than the general public. In light of this, we have put in place some preventative protocols:

1. Due to the continued concern of outbreak with coronavirus, we are asking everyone to read this message. We ask that you do not visit our communities until further notice. We want to protect our residents and associates, to avoid any possible spread of illness. Signs have been posted at the front entrances of our communities expressing this request.

2. We are refraining family members from taking residents out of the community.

3. We are limiting resident transportation services to priority scheduled doctor’s appointments. We are eliminating outdoor excursions which involves public gathering spaces.

4. We are cancelling all remaining March events until further notice.

5. Residents admitted to the community or readmitted to the community from hospitals or rehabs are being assessed for symptoms of illness, to include flu-like symptoms or symptoms of respiratory infection. Appropriate infection prevention practices are being implemented accordingly.

6. For our associates, upon arrival for their scheduled work, their temperatures are checked, and we are accessing their whereabouts or activities after and before work. Associates are sent home immediately if they are feeling ill, have flu-like symptoms or symptoms of respiratory infection. They are also briefed daily on the dangers of COVID-19 should it ever reach our community.

7. We will continue to follow our precautions with increased cleanliness and sanitation for high touch surfaces, i.e. dining rooms, activity rooms, doorknobs, elevator buttons, faucets, and handrails.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of any of our leadership teams. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of your loved ones. We know you feel the same as we join together to ensure the health and safety of our Tuscan Gardens family.

Respectfully,

Team at Tuscan Gardens Senior Living

Dear Residents, friends, family and future residents,

Due to the continued concern of outbreak with the coronavirus, we are asking all family, friends and visitors to read this message. If you have recently traveled outside of the U.S., we ask that you do not visit our community. We want to protect our residents and associates, to avoid any possible spread of illness. Signs have been posted at the front entrances of our communities expressing this request.

For family, friends and visitors who would like to visit, we ask for your patience. We have set up a prevention protocol at the entrance of each community. We ask that you kindly sanitize your hands, wear a mask (if applicable) and have your temperature checked prior to signing in and visiting your loved one. If your temperature is 99 degrees or higher, we will ask for your cooperation in not entering the community at this time.

Residents admitted to the community or readmitted to the community from hospitals or rehabs are being assessed for symptoms of illness, to include flu-like symptoms or symptoms of respiratory infection. Appropriate infection prevention practices will be implemented accordingly as needed.

For our associates, upon arrival for their scheduled work, their temperatures are being checked prior to beginning their assignments. Associates are encouraged to stay home if they are feeling ill, have flu-like symptoms or symptoms of respiratory infection. We will continue to follow our precautions with increased cleanliness and sanitation for high touch surfaces.

If you have any questions, please contact any member of our leadership teams. We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we join together to ensure the health and safety of our Tuscan Gardens family. Thank you for allowing us to keep our communities free of health issues.

Respectfully,

Team at Tuscan Gardens Senior Living

March 9th 2020 @ 10:00 AM

Dear Residents, friends, family and future residents,

The health and safety of our residents and community are always our highest priorities. Please know we are closely monitoring the advisories and recommendations related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), local governmental agencies and leaders, and American Health Care Association (ACHA).

Similar to other parts of the country, our state is still seeing widespread activity of the flu. The CDC advises similar precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and flu. There are several common-sense precautions and tips to help prevent the spread of the flu and other viruses:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. (Throw tissue away and wash hands!). If there is no tissue or handkerchief available, cough or sneeze in the crook of your arm.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth – germs easily spread!
  • Stay home if you are feeling ill, to prevent spreading infection to others.

Our leadership teams continue to share these tips with residents and associates respectively.

Information from the experts suggests following precautions rather than panic.  Tuscan Gardens precautionary measures include expanding procedures to ensure high touch surfaces are frequently wiped down with recommended cleaning solutions for the flu and coronavirus.  Our expanded list/increased frequency of treated surfaces include all common areas, push bars and doorknobs.  Tuscan Gardens encourages sick associates to stay home. Our Culinary Directors are diligent in ensuring that their teams follow the CDC recommended precautions and our clinical teams are knowledgeable about screening protocols and quickly implementing them if necessary.

Many excellent resources exist. Please visit and follow the CDC recommendations at this link Coronavirus Prevention-Treatment.  Additionally, refer to this link (Florida Department of Health) for more information provided by our state.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of any of our leadership teams. We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we join together to ensure the health and safety of our Tuscan Gardens family.

Dear Tuscan Gardens Family & Friends,

We have received the “All Clear” to return to Palm Coast.  The feeling of happiness and pure joy is strong by everyone!  We are preparing our Palm Coast residents to load the buses that are on the way to Tuscan Gardens of Venetia Bay (they have been waiting in a nearby parking lot since arrival on Monday).  Our plan is to be loaded and head back to Palm Coast by 3:00 PM and be back in the community before nightfall.

For our residents who stayed in Palm Coast with their family and did not travel to Venice, we will be happy to have you return on Thursday morning any time after 9:00 AM.  This will give our team time to make sure all our traveling residents are safely settled-in and rested and our associates are briefed and prepared for our entire community to be back to normal.

A special thank you to all of our Venice residents who opened their arms and hospitality to our Palm Coast residents.

We apologize for repeating the same message of appreciation and gratitude for an amazing team in Venice and Palm Coast but it cannot go unsaid.  These teams went above and beyond to care for all of our residents and make sure they were safe, healthy, and happy.  So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone!

With gratitude and thankfulness,
The Tuscan Gardens Team

Dear Tuscan Gardens Family & Friends,

As we have all been glued to the TV over the past few days, we breathe a sigh of relief today.  Dorian’s devastation in the Bahamas is only a reminder that it could have been so different for anyone of us on the coast of Florida.  We eagerly wait for the Emergency Management Services of Flagler County to lift the evacuation order so we can return to Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast as quickly and safely as possible.

We will keep you updated as we continue to keep our residents active and entertained while in Venice.  A special note of appreciation to all of our residents from both communities who have been wonderful during this time of evacuation, and to our amazing associates who have gone above and beyond to keep our residents safe, happy, and healthy.

Warmly,
The Tuscan Gardens Team

Dear Tuscan Gardens Family & Friends,

We are all cautiously optimistic that Dorian is moving northward and hopeful that it continues to stay off the Florida Coastline with minimal impact.

We wanted to provide an update that all our Palm Coast residents are doing fine and being embraced by our Venice residents and associates. Today, we are focused on participating in activities to keep us fit and active.  We have a happy hour planned with live music and pizza from our Tuscan oven which we know all our residents will enjoy.

We eagerly await for word from the Emergency Management Service when it is deemed “All Clear” for our community to return to Palm Coast without risk of potential storm surge.  We will keep you updated whenever we hear anything.

We thank you for trusting us and know we stand with them during this time together.

Warmly,
The Tuscan Gardens Team

Dear Tuscan Gardens Family & Friends,

I am happy to report that our Palm Coast residents have arrived safe and sound at our Venice community.  They were greeted by our associates and residents and were fabulous travelers.  They are settling in for the night and planning activities for the upcoming days.

Once again we want you to know that our residents and associates are our top priority and we look forward to returning to Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast when we receive the All Clear. Stay safe.

Warmly, Janet Pino

Good afternoon.  I have met some of you personally but not everyone at the community.  I am taking over communication while Michelle, our Executive Director, and her amazing team, are in transit towards safe haven at our Venice Community.  All of our residents were real troopers and did a wonderful job getting ready and loading up for departure on the chartered buses.  Their spirits were high and ready for our trip. I wanted to keep as much communication with each of you as possible along the way so you know that everyone is safe and sound and doing great. Our goal is to make the trip an enjoyable experience and use the time together to make new friends and learn more about each other along the way – and to  keep our residents, associates and families safe in the process.

A special note of appreciation and praise to all of our Tuscan Gardens associates.  This includes both Palm Coast and Venice communities who helped get the residents travel-ready, those who are traveling with the residents to Venice and to our team in Venice preparing for everyone’s arrival.  We are proud of this team who prepared carefully for this evacuation!  Once the team arrives in Venice, we will touch base with the families so they know that everyone is settled in and safe.  I wanted you to know that we have lots of support at the community with our dedicated regional team including: Cindy (our Regional Director), Lynn (our Regional Nurse), Maria (VP of Sales) helping Michelle and our entire team of Directors from both communities.

Thank you for trusting us with your loved ones.  And a special thank you to our team at Tuscan Gardens of Venetia Bay for being a gracious host to our Palm Coast team and residents.

We have been working with AT&T all day trying to transfer the main Palm Coast number from the community to my cell phone.  Until they are able to make this forward complete, please know that we post to the website and social media to keep everyone informed as much as possible.

Warmly, Janet Pino

Dear Tuscan Gardens Family & Friends,

We’ve all been watching the path of Dorian carefully over the past several days prepared to move our residents from Palm Coast to Venetia Bay if required by Emergency Operations for the State of Florida.  Alas, that Emergency Evacuation Order has come in for our Palm Coast community.  The concern is not the structural soundness of our building, but the forecasted storm surges in the coastal areas.  While our community was built on higher ground, the surrounding areas could lead to our Community sitting as an island in Palm Coast.  We have initialed our Emergency Plan which includes evacuating our Palm Coast residents and moving them temporarily to the Venice community until we receive the “All Clear” from the Palm Coast authorities.

Many of you who lived at our community in Venice during the Hurricane Irma event followed the same emergency plan, except we were allowed to “stay and shelter” at Tuscan Gardens of Venetia Bay.  We provided shelter to many of you, your family members, as well as another community on Venice island who was forced to evacuate Irma’s path.  We plan to greet our Palm Coast residents later this afternoon depending on how traffic between the communities flow.  Ali will provide updates along the way so you know when our guests will arrive.

We are so grateful we can take care of their needs in the same way we would have taken care of yours had the situation been reversed.  We look forward to hearing wonderful stories of your camaraderie, friendship and support.  Enjoy the next few days together and thank you so much for reaching out to your guests, extending a hand of friendship and warm welcome to them.

Warmly,

Janet and Larry

Dear Family Members, Residents and Associates,

Currently, Palm Coast is not evacuating as per communication with the local emergency management service.

However, we could evacuate at a moments notice. The Tuscan Gardens Palm Coast team has done a wonderful job getting our community and residents prepared to evacuate and/or prepared to stay in place.

At this time, we are sheltering in place. We’re communicating in real-time with family members. We will continue to update our communication as needed.

Thank you for your patience and support during this critical weather event.

Respectfully,

Team at Tuscan Gardens Senior Living

Dear Family Members, Residents and Associates,

As Hurricane Dorian tracks towards Florida, we want to keep you updated regarding our plans and preparations at Tuscan Gardens®.  Your loved ones have the option of staying in place or you can evacuate them at your discretion. If you are planning to take your loved one out of our communities during the weather event, please notify us immediately as we are ordering provisions and must have an accurate headcount.

For those weathering the storm with us, we are preparing appropriately and will have adequate food and lighting while continuing to provide the same care you would expect from us. Your safety is of utmost importance to our team. We work very closely with the State of Florida to ensure we are providing the safest care for our residents and our associates. Our buildings are constructed based on the latest building codes, which require CAT 3 hurricane standards.

As a member of the Tuscan Gardens family, if you are in a situation seeking refuge and cannot find a designated hurricane shelter, please let us know and we will provide space in our community as needed.

In an effort to stay in communication, especially with families who might be out of town, we will update as necessary via emails, Tuscan Gardens website (see our special communication banner located at https://tuscangardens.com and the Facebook pages of our respective communities).  If you are unable to reach us, please leave a detailed voicemail message and we will get back with you as soon as possible.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the path of Hurricane Dorian. Please keep each other safe and check on your neighbors, especially seniors, who may need help evacuating. Here’s what you need to know:

Thank you for your patience and support during this weather event. We will continue to keep you abreast of any changes to our plans and continue to provide you with more details as the days progress.
