Health and Safety Update

Dear Residents, friends, family and future residents,

The health and safety of our residents and community are always our highest priorities. Please know we are closely monitoring the advisories and recommendations related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), local governmental agencies and leaders, and American Health Care Association (ACHA).

Similar to other parts of the country, our state is still seeing widespread activity of the flu. The CDC advises similar precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and flu. There are several common-sense precautions and tips to help prevent the spread of the flu and other viruses:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. (Throw tissue away and wash hands!). If there is no tissue or handkerchief available, cough or sneeze in the crook of your arm.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth – germs easily spread!
  • Stay home if you are feeling ill, to prevent spreading infection to others.

Our leadership teams continue to share these tips with residents and associates respectively.

Information from the experts suggests following precautions rather than panic.  Tuscan Gardens precautionary measures include expanding procedures to ensure high touch surfaces are frequently wiped down with recommended cleaning solutions for the flu and coronavirus.  Our expanded list/increased frequency of treated surfaces include all common areas, push bars and doorknobs.  Tuscan Gardens encourages sick associates to stay home. Our Culinary Directors are diligent in ensuring that their teams follow the CDC recommended precautions and our clinical teams are knowledgeable about screening protocols and quickly implementing them if necessary.

Many excellent resources exist. Please visit and follow the CDC recommendations at this link Coronavirus Prevention-Treatment.  Additionally, refer to this link (Florida Department of Health) for more information provided by our state.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of any of our leadership teams. We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we join together to ensure the health and safety of our Tuscan Gardens family.

Respectfully,

Team at Tuscan Gardens Senior Living
